Brokenshire Medical Center (BMC), a respected healthcare institution serving the Davao region for over a century, has unveiled its new brand identity and presented its future plans last June 7, 2023. When I received the invitation to attend the event, I immediately said yes because I am a proud Brokenshire College graduate. I was able to take my fair share of experience in the hospital formerly known as Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries, Inc.
The updated identity reflects BMC's unwavering dedication to patient-centered, innovative medical care. It includes a fresh visual identity, a refined mission statement, and a strengthened organizational culture, all aimed at improving the patient experience and achieving positive healthcare outcomes. With AppleOne Medical Group (AM) at the helm, BMC is transforming to better represent its commitment to health and wellness. AMG aims to enhance BMC's reputation as a leading provider of advanced healthcare in the region by upgrading infrastructure, leveraging technology, acquiring cutting-edge medical facilities, and employing competent and compassionate personnel.

One of the exciting developments is the BMC Heart Institute, offering world-class cardiovascular care to patients across the region. Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and staffed by highly trained specialists, this groundbreaking facility ensures comprehensive cardiac care. BMC is also expanding its services to address the increasing demand for cancer treatment in the area. A dedicated chemo-infusion unit, led by experienced doctors and well-trained nurses, will provide comprehensive care and support to cancer patients. Moreover, BMC is establishing a Stroke Unit staffed by specialized experts to address a wide range of neurological conditions and provide personalized treatment plans. The hospital is also improving its CANDEV facility, the first hospital-based multidisciplinary center for children with special needs.

Founded in the early 1900s as the Davao Mission Hospital, BMC has grown into a Level 3 Training Hospital with a 200-bed capacity, offering a wide range of medical, nursing, ancillary, and support services.
Currently, BMC stands out as one of the few healthcare providers in the country specializing in and offering In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Moreover, it holds the distinction of being the first in Mindanao to provide Hybrid Endolap Surgery with Spyglass.
BMC takes pride in the effectiveness of its healthcare services, bolstered by various features and facilities. These include the Molecular Biology Laboratory, which is utilized for COVID testing, as well as the availability of 3D Mammogram Screening, CT Scan Facility, Eye Laser Center, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Center, Hemophilia & Bleeding Disorders Treatment Center, Diagnostic & Operative Laparoscopy Center, Child & Adolescent Neuro-Developmental Center, Renal Dialysis Center, and Kidney Stone Center.
